The Barometric Pressure Sensor – Model 5730-03 provides solid-state barometric pressure data for all elevations. The Barometric Pressure Sensor’s advanced technology allows accurate pressure measurement with excellent repeatability and temperature compensation. Low power consumption makes the Barometric Pressure Sensor ideally suited for portable and remote sensing applications.
The Barometric Pressure Sensor consists of a pressure sensor connected to a signal conditioning board. The Barometric Pressure Sensor’s signal conditioning board is housed in a NEMA weather resistant enclosure and includes a 12 ft (3.7 m) signal cable. A reusable Model 5000-00 Desiccant Canister is included with the Barometric Pressure Sensor. The Barometric Pressure Sensor’s output signal is conditioned to provide a 0 to 5 VDC, output. The Barometric Pressure Sensor’s output signal is linearly proportional to the barometric pressure. A zero adjustment potentiometer is used for field calibration of the Barometric Pressure Sensor.
Typically, the factory calibration would be for the range of 850 to 1050 millibars (25.10 to 31.00 inches of Hg) corrected for your installation’s elevation. If the actual BP is the standard pressure of 1013 mB (29.9 inches of Hg) and the elevation is 3000 ft (914.4 m), the Barometric Pressure Sensor would read 1013 mB (29.9 inches of Hg) even though the station pressure is 908 mB (26.8 inches of Hg).
A calibration certificate is included with the Barometric Pressure Sensor.
