High Sierra Electronics’ 2-Way ALERT2 Base Station Transceiver facilitates communication within your two-way ALERT2 network by providing a single 2U desktop/rack-mount modem for receiving messages and transmitting command messages via ALERT2. It incorporates the same innovative packaging, new decoding technology and RSSI features jointly developed for the ALERT2 Decoder. Integration with AEM Elements 360 is managed through a single Ethernet connection.
Unique features include an informative Receive Signal Strength Indication (RSSI), conveniently displayed on a front panel LCD meter.
Understanding RSSI for each gauge site is a valuable tool in determining site and system health and for troubleshooting. Planned development will encode RSSI readings into S messages for storage of a running history of RSSI by transmit site in Contrail software, to enable early detection of degraded system performance. Front panel Detect and Decode LEDs along with RSSI provide a visual indication of successfully decoded ALERT2 messages.
An IP accessible graphical user interface is provided for the Decoder where many of its features can be accessed and configured. This full-featured WEB UI allows the user to view received ALERT2 messages as they arrive. It also provides access to logged data, download of logs, and configuration of all relevant parameters (except for IP address and hostname).
The Model 3345-24 can also receive both inverted and normal modulation polarity ALERT2 signals.
