The ALERT Transceiver / Decoder – Model 3345 combines the functions of a Receiver, Decoder, and Serial Transmitter. The ALERT Transceiver / Decoder functions work for incoming messages from the radio and sends them to the RS-232 port as binary data for direction connection to a computer or server running an ALERT data display application, or to propagate the data over the data communications network.

The ALERT Transceiver / Decoder Transmit function accepts commands over its RS-232 port and transmits formatted command messages for HSE ALERT Controller and Repeaters.

The ALERT Transceiver / Decoder is fully automatic and requires no manual intervention. The Receive frequency is set at HSE’s factory to customer specifications. A front panel LED indicates data activity on the ALERT Transceiver / Decoder.

The ALERT Transceiver / Decoder is available in both a desktop version or in a rack-mount (3U) chassis. The rack-mount ALERT Transceiver / Decoder configuration has an internal battery for operation during short power outages, and can optionally be equipped with a terminal port server for ethernet applications.
