The Model 1012 is a 2U desktop/rack-mount ALERT2* Decoder designed and manufactured exclusively by High Sierra Electronics. All ALERT2 processing is handled using technology developed by HSE and its sister brand OneRain.
Unique features include an informative Receive Signal Strength Indication (RSSI), conveniently displayed on a front panel LCD meter.
Understanding RSSI for each gauge site is a valuable tool in determining site and system health as well as for troubleshooting. Front panel Detect and Decode LEDs, along with RSSI, provide a visual indication of successfully decoded ALERT2 messages. Planned developments include encoding RSSI readings into S messages for Contrail software storage. This will provide a running history of RSSI by transmit site, allowing early detection of degraded system performance.
An IP accessible graphical user interface is provided for the Decoder where many of its features can be accessed and configured. This full-featured WEB UI allows users to view received ALERT2 messages as they arrive. It also provides access to logged data, download of logs, and configuration of all relevant parameters (except for IP address and hostname).
The 1012 Decoder can also receive both inverted and normal modulation polarity ALERT2 signals.
*ALERT2 is the latest generation data protocol for hydrologic systems administered by the ALERT2 Technical Working Group of the U.S. National Hydrologic Warning Council.
